The POS Restaurant Features have been updated 🙌. As part of WineDirect's continuous commitment to improvements, we're happy to announce that we've recently improved the POS Table Seating Features, which now:

  • Organizes your table orders in numerical order automatically
  • Adds filtering for your table order tickets by sales assistant and location
  • Enables re-printing of any table order tickets as many times as you want
  • Allows management of that day's created tickets from the POS

All-New WineDirect Release Notes

Here are the latest fixes and enhancements within All-New WineDirect as of September 10th, 2024:

REPORTS

  • Sales by Tender Report is now available. This report allows clients to quickly compare total sales for a given payment type to compare to their cash sales, merchant account balances, or other payment methods that they support.

ORDERS

  • New credit cards can now be entered when re-trying payment for a declined order on the Admin Panel. The new card can be optionally saved to the customer profile. Previously the user had to create the card on the customer profile, before retrying payment on the declined order.
  • Staff notes that were entered in a draft club order, are now displayed on the club order after it has been processed. The staff notes cannot be edited once the club order is processed.

PRODUCT INVENTORY

  • The stock settings configuration form allows users to update safety stock and low stock values independently from adjustments and transfers.
  • Adjustments and transfers configuration forms will display pending values when the form is re-opened and can be updated before saving product.
  • If an inventory pool has a pending adjustment, adding a transfer to/from that pool will be prohibited until the adjustment is saved.
  • If an inventory pool has a pending transfer, adding an adjustment to that pool will be prohibited until pending transfer is saved.
  • All inventory adjustments and transfers are captured and reported in the inventory transaction report with details of transfer source and target inventory pools, and any comments provided by the user in the adjustment and transfer forms.

PRODUCT LIST

  • The product list can now be filtered by the following product types: Wine, Spirits, Event Ticket, General Product, and Tasting

CLUBS

  • Admins can "retry" payment on a selected group of declined orders. A bug was preventing the option on the bulk actions menu previously.
  • The ability to “Process All” club orders has been removed from the meatball menu on the Release List. Processing must be initiated from within the club orders page.
  • Performance improvements were made to club processing by optimizing calls made to 3rd party services.
  • Orders created on the Admin Panel, can now be designated as “club” order type. A bug that was prohibiting the designation was fixed.
  • Sporadic timing issues caused customer records to not allow updates when the customer signed up for a club via the storefront. This bug has been fixed by changing the process by which the new customer is created.

PAYMENTS

  • Wineries can now configure sales channels to use different merchant accounts. This allows channel-appropriate payment settings to reduce fraud and payment declines. Select your merchant account by selecting “Settings” on the WineDirect Payments Integration page.

All-New WineDirect Release Notes

Here are the latest fixes and enhancements within All-New WineDirect as of July 30th, 2024:

CLUBS

  1. History of status changes is now tracked in a Membership History panel on the Membership page. Changes to or from pending, active, hold, and cancelled are displayed with dates and the user that made the change.
  2. Cancellation reason can be selected from pre-configured list of reasons when user cancels a membership. During cancellation, draft orders can also be cancelled or retained. Upgrades and Downgrades are recorded, along with user comments.
  3. When club draft orders are generated, drafts that do not yet have shipping and taxes calculated, are displayed with a “*” next to the total price. A backend process will update the taxes and shipping, and upon refresh of the page, the user will see more and more orders with full pricing as they are being calculated.
  4. Users can update information on memberships, even if credit card associated with memberships is expired.
  5. Releases can now contain Bundle Products. CAVEAT: Cannot support orders with bundles and single products, where the single product is also contained within the bundle. This scenario is being actively worked, and ETA is not yet available.
  6. Retry payment can be executed in bulk from the Release Order List pages.

PRODUCTS

  1. When selecting a specific product from a filtered list of products, the filters will be retained when returning to the product list.

ORDERS

  1. BUG FIX: When a product was purchased at two different price points, multiple line items will be displayed, showing the quantity of that product purchased at each price point.
  2. Users can re-try payment from the order page, without re-validation of the order. This is used when credit card failed, but all pricing information should remain the same and not be recalculated. A new credit card can be associated with the order before re-trying payment.
  3. Further reduced the probability of fallback taxes by optimizing our tax calculation process.
  4. BUG FIX: Avalara orders are now returning correct taxes, and will no longer get stuck in quarantined state.

INVENTORY IMPORT

  1. Users can choose to import adjustments to stock, or to reset stock value.
  2. Import of inventory adjustments will save adjustment along with comments provided in the import file. Products in the file that have no adjustment values, will be ignored.
  3. Log files for inventory adjustment are available when import is 100% successful or has one or more failures.

REPORTS

  1. Bundle products now appear in the inventory reports.

WEBSITE

  1. Dot used to navigate between images on mobile, removed when only one image.

  • Streamlined Configuration: The duplicate order-prefix field for fulfillment configuration in Club Settings has been removed, simplifying your setup process.
  • Efficient Membership Management: The Cancel Membership modal now closes automatically after a membership is canceled, improving workflow efficiency.

Products

  • Real-Time Inventory Insights: The product inventory module window now displays on-hand stock values, providing you with up-to-date inventory information for better stock management.

Reports

  • Comprehensive Inventory Reporting: The inventory report now includes up-to-date promised stock values, new columns for on-hand stock, and details on orders that still need to be fulfilled, offering a complete view of your inventory status.
  • Detailed Membership Reporting: For membership reports listed on the Generated Reports page, clicking on a report now displays the filters used, helping you understand the report criteria at a glance.
  • Flexible Date Filters: The “Is Before” and “Is After” date filters on reports can now be used without causing report generation failures, increasing your reporting flexibility.
  • Expanded Report Filters: New filters available on Order and Shipping reports include Completed Date, Refunded Date, Cancelled Date, Paid Date, and Product Department, allowing for more granular analysis.

Easily Adjust Product Description Location

The latest update to the Cellar theme lets you control where your product descriptions appear—above or below the "Add to Bag" button.

To easily update this setting for all your product pages:

  1. Click on "Product Page" in the Theme Styles menu on the left side of the page.
  2. Select your preferred location for the product description in the modal that appears.

This new feature helps you tailor your storefront for a better shopping experience.

Enhanced Customization Options for Your Checkout Page

The checkout page is a crucial touchpoint on your winery's website. Enhance your customer's journey by adding customized details to this vital page. You can now include essential information such as:

  • Shipping Limitations: Clearly communicate any regional restrictions or delivery constraints.
  • Exclusive Promotions: Highlight special offers, discounts, or limited-time deals to encourage additional purchases.
  • Custom Messages: Add a personal touch with thank you notes or loyalty program reminders.

By tailoring the checkout experience, you can reduce cart abandonment, increase customer satisfaction, and drive higher sales.

Required Theme Version: 1.4.5. You can check your theme version by going to Advanced Settings > Storefront > Themes.

  1. Log in to the All-New WineDirect.
  2. Access the Advanced Settings by clicking ECOMMERCE in the left navigation menu, then Settings.
  3. Click Storefront, then Script Manager.
  4. Click the Create a Script button.
  5. Here are the settings you will want to fill:
  6. Script name: Custom Checkout Message (can be anything)
  7. Placement: Header
  8. Location: Checkout
  9. Script Category: Essential
  10. Script Type: Script
  11. Script Contents: You can add HTML text, headings, lists, images, and more in the (Code here) part below.

Overview of Promotion Types in the All-New WineDirect

The All-New WineDirect platform offers various promotion types to enhance the customer experience and drive sales. These include Coupon Codes, Coupon Promotions, and Automatic Promotions. While these promotion types share some similarities, each has unique features and functionalities.

Key Comparisons

Automatic Promotions are for when a customer qualifies for a discount at checkout with no action required.

Coupon Promotions are for when a customer needs to add a specific code at checkout, but they must also qualify for that discount based on set parameters defined when creating a Coupon Promotion.

Coupon Codes are for when a customer needs to add a specific code at checkout, but no qualifications are required. Coupon codes can have a limit on how many times they can be used and on which products they can be used.

All three types of promotions can be applied to products of a specific category, but only Coupon Promotions and Automatic Promotions can exclude individual products or full categories.

Shipping Discounts

WineDirect can only provide free shipping as a shipping discount. The ability to add a percentage or dollar amount off of shipping will be a feature released soon.

When providing a Free Shipping promotion to customers, it is important to remember the following:

  1. If a Coupon Code provides free shipping, other shipping methods will still be provided to customers at checkout.
  2. If a Coupon Promotion provides free shipping, no other shipping method will be available for customers at checkout.

Bug: Investigating

Investigating: Abandoned Cart Emails for Clubs

We've observed that certain club members are receiving abandoned cart emails even though their orders are still in draft mode and have not been processed yet. We are actively investigating this issue.

In the meantime, we suggest the following if you are currently using clubs:

  • Not enable abandoned cart emails.
  • Temporarily deactivate abandoned cart emails before generating club orders while draft orders remain in the club.

You can turn off abandoned cart emails by going to Ecommerce > Settings > Marketing > Abandoned Cart Emails > Switch off the 'Send abandoned cart emails' toggle.
